Number one so you’ll love the outdoors here in Redlands there’s so much natural beauty to take advantage of and tons of parks and trails and different neighborhoods that you can walk through so here we can go hiking running biking or playing just hanging out with family and friends also living in Redlands you know the beach is about an hour away mountain communities or about an hour away for hiking and skiing and then there’s the low desert like Palm Springs and things which is about 45 minutes away and then a little bit further towards Palm Springs there’s Joshua Tree National Park was just right over an hour and 15 minutes or so which has a dark sky Park status for stargazing and night sky activities so I like going there with the family running around checking out stuff in Joshua Tree and then spending the evening there taking photos of the night sky foreign Blossom Trail and it goes from one side of town so pretty much the other side of the town and it’s a paved walking area so you can see here we have the little orange guy on the bike that’s really cool looking and then it goes as far as you can see over there almost to Mentone there and then behind me it just keeps going and so this is the part where it talks about the sister cities of Redlands that’s who adopted it and so it’s that you know it has the dirt and the paved area so just one of the examples of a good place or cool place to hike in Redlands or just take a walk I mean since I’ve been here a couple minutes lots of people ride their bikes by walking by jogging by and let’s go check out the next place all right so number two Redlands has all kinds of different restaurants and things and so they have all like The Big Box franchise type things in Mountain Grove Citrus Plaza throughout the town and then here we are Downtown Redlands and so they have things like Darbies over there and then we’ll take a quick walk of the State Street here there’s all kinds of different fun restaurants they’re all for the most part all Independents and things so there’s lots of coffee shops down here so just about anything you can think of as far as places to eat inside traditional all kinds of cool stuff this is like one of my favorite ones right here these Don Orange Tacos typical outdoor spot what kind of indoor out there another one here is the state where they’re really open to that which is really cool so when the weather is good you could sit and then right around the corner Straight Ahead that’s the crease it’s really nice place inside and outside today there’s also the umbrella alley originally it was just an alley for the most part now it has all kinds of different restaurants part of it it’s a place where a lot of people come so one of the first restaurants is called hate Burger really good food there and then there’s several others and it’s the back of the some of the restaurants foreign so here’s a lesser known alley in Redlands and it’s right next door to the Molino’s coffee this is a newer mural in town pretty cool looking and so a lot of times there’s no cars down there but all kinds of different funerals check out on both sides of it goes all the way down the weather weather that throughout the year there’s typically between day and night like a swing of 20 to 30 degrees so like for instance in the summer months when it’s not like dead dead summer it could be pushing 90 degrees and it’ll cool down to like the high 70s low 80s and then the winter months what will happen is when it’s pretty cold like like right now it’s almost winter here to November and and it’s so in the evenings you know it cools down to like the low 40s sometimes the high 30s but then during the day it’s in the mid 60s it could even hit the 70s so what’s kind of cool is that it basically just keeps fluctuating so that way at you know in the summer months you know you could have a hot day and then it’ll cool off in the evening so you go out so it’s not a spot where it’s always what temperature and it just never cools off and then what’s also cool because it’s Southern California you know we can’t say we really get much of a weather or winter so like we just had a a winter storm so we have here there’s some snow on the Mounds there that are slowly burning off or melting and so here in Redlands you know rain for a couple days and then in the mountain areas there’s snow and this time of year you know it’s cold enough to where they can start producing snow at the skus zones where is Redwood red little red lips freeway right down here that’s the 10 freeway and so if you look back that way that’s like the whole Inland Empire area and about 60 miles from Los Angeles and then we have the the high desert communities which are going up that way and then if we look over this way here there’s Big Bear which is about an hour away and then Palm Springs which is down that way over there is about 45 minutes away from here and so Redlands has a population about 75 000 has all kinds of walking trails Parks like all kinds of things so let’s go check out a little bit more foreign number five let’s check it out here real quick so we got a fence on it probably doing a little repairs or maybe redoing the benches kind of thing but this is the Redlands Bowl it’s where they do Summer music festivals and it’s notable for being the nation’s oldest continue running music festival you know where they do plays and music and things where there’s no admission fees whatsoever and so Grace Mullen is who started it long time ago and her idea was music for everyone no matter like if they were able to pay or not in the mission she did this to promote a sense of community among individuals and varied levels of talent interests and backgrounds that kind of thing so they’re getting ready for their 100th year anniversary and um can’t wait to go watch it this summer I always take the kids and a couple thousand people come every year and so it’s definitely a fun place to be all right so that’s number five so even if you’re thinking about moving to Redlands California or the surrounding cities you know give us call text email reach out however you like and we got your back to moving to California also check out all the other videos everything we do is about living around Redlands in the surrounding areas and if there’s anything specific you’d like to see just drop it in the comments down below and we’ll talk to you soon thanks bye
