On Saturday, December 3, a large crowd of families and friends gathered in downtown Redlands to celebrate the Redlands Christmas Parade: “The Comforts of Christmas” the theme for this year. A three-decade-plus tradition sponsored by the city and the Redlands Kiwanis Club, helped start the festive season with the annual Christmas Tree lighting in Ed Hales Park.
A lovely evening to celebrate the holidays is produced by this family-friendly event, which often attracts 2,000 participating kids. Typically, this procession has more over 100 entries, including a wide variety of entertainment.
The parade followed the same route as in previous years, beginning at the intersection of Eureka Street and Citrus Avenue and traveling east before turning north on Eighth Street, west on State Street, and south on Orange Street to return to Citrus Avenue.
A large crowd gathered along State Street and Citrus Avenue to see local marching bands, enjoy holiday floats, and get a glimpse of Santa Claus as he as he wished good tidings to all.
