It’s time to get your mermaid on!
The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is proud to present Disney’s The Little Mermaid, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved story. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater.
An amazing, magical night with the cast and crew of Disney’s The Little Mermaid: A Live Spectacular brought quintessential childhood memories to life at the Redlands Bowl starting on Thurs, July 28-Sun, July 31.
The Summer Music Festival is a weekend-long event that brings together kids and families, as well as music lovers of all ages. The Redlands community has come together to host this annual festival, and it’s clear that they’ve put their hearts into it.
The dedication behind the production was clear, as the cast and crew gathered to rehearse at the bowl for the fourth time. The live orchestra, led by conductor Nolan Livesay, added depth to the music and the choreography by Michael Milligan made tap dancing seagulls look beautiful.
The show they put on is amazing—it’s full of energy, humor and dance numbers. And when you combine all those things with outstanding costumes and remarkable set design, you end up with something truly special.
The evening was a great success. Parents brought young children and families, teenagers came with friends, and couples.
The Redlands Bowl Performing Arts Association has been a force to be reckoned with in the local entertainment scene for years. With shows like “The Little Mermaid,” they’re showing no signs of slowing down.
